| Program description: A comprehensive review of the latest biological
and clinical information/research on multiple myeloma (and related blood cancers) as presented
at the Seventh Annual International Multiple Myeloma World Congress in Sweden.
Program objective: To understand the natural history of multiple myeloma and its prognostic indicators in order to better define the progression
of the disease, and improve outcomes.
To understand and/or recommend the latest methods used to treat
multiple myeloma, including:
- High dose chemotherapy and bone marrow/peripheral stem cell transplant.
- Idiotypic and DNA vaccines, and other immune-based therapies.
- The use of thalidomide
